New Delhi: Student-led protests over the NEET paper leak have spread across India, with demonstrators demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continues to lead the movement, even as police detain protesters and Parliament remains adjourned.
Protests intensify across cities
Demonstrations have been reported in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Patna, Jaipur, Guwahati, and more. In Mumbai alone, police detained over 150 protesters and filed multiple FIRs. In Bihar, thousands marched in Katihar, Darbhanga, and Begusarai against alleged exam irregularities.
Parliament stalls over demands
Proceedings in both Houses of Parliament were adjourned again on Thursday. Opposition MPs insisted that Pradhan must resign before any debate on NEET. This marks the fourth consecutive day of disruptions since the Monsoon Session began.
CJP’s message: “It’s about student rights”
CJP leaders say the movement is not about party politics. “This is not CJP or BJP—it’s about student rights,” a protester said. The group continues to press for accountability, transparency, and systemic reform in the examination process.
What protesters want
- Resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan
- Comprehensive overhaul of the national examination system
- Publication of annual schedules for all competitive exams
- Stronger action against those responsible for paper leaks
With protests growing and Parliament at a standstill, pressure on the government is mounting. The CJP has vowed to continue until its demands are met. Students across India are watching closely, hoping for real change in a system that shapes their futures.
