A massive fire broke out at a commercial shop in the Helmet Bazaar area of Ameerpet on Thursday afternoon, causing panic among shoppers and shop owners in one of the city’s busiest commercial stretches. So far, no injuries or fatalities have been reported.
The blaze, which originated at a helmet shop, quickly spread through a three-storey building that also houses KSR Fashions, a clothing store located near Maithrivanam on the main road. Flames engulfed the structure from top to bottom, and thick smoke was seen billowing from the building, visible from several hundred metres away.
Upon receiving information, seven fire engines were rushed to the spot, and firefighters launched an intensive operation to bring the blaze under control. The fire spread rapidly as the premises were heavily stocked with clothing materials and helmets, both highly flammable items.

Fire officials on the scene said firefighting teams worked for several hours to contain the blaze. The intensity of the fire was particularly severe due to the large quantity of combustible materials stored inside.
