Mumbai: The teaser of Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited mythological epic, in which he appears as Lord Rama, has taken the internet by storm, with fans calling his “Rama avatar” grand, powerful, and goosebump-inducing.

The short promo, released online by the makers on Wednesday, opens with sweeping shots of a battlefield, dramatic chants, and a striking first glimpse of Ranbir as a warrior-king. Dressed in traditional armour, bow in hand, and framed against a fiery sky, his look and body language have drawn instant praise from audiences across languages.

Visually, the teaser leans heavily on large-scale VFX, towering palaces, and stylised combat sequences. Viewers get quick flashes of key moments inspired by the Ramayana, including Rama drawing his bow, leading an army, and confronting shadowy demonic forces. The background score blends powerful orchestral music with devotional undertones, heightening the impact.

Within hours of release, fan pages began circulating stills and edits of Ranbir’s look, with many calling it one of his most intense transformations yet. “Ranbir as Rama is pure goosebumps. The eyes, the stance, everything feels majestic,” wrote one user on X, while another commented that the teaser “finally gives a pan-India feel done right.”

Industry trackers note that the project is being positioned as a big-ticket pan-India release, targeting audiences in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is directed by a leading filmmaker known for large-scale storytelling, and backed by a top production house betting big on mythological cinema after recent successes at the box office.

Trade analysts believe the strong first impression will help the film’s advance promotions. “In today’s market, the teaser has to sell the scale in under a minute. Here, Ranbir’s screen presence and the grandeur of the frames do most of the talking,” said a Mumbai-based trade observer.

While the teaser largely keeps other characters under wraps, the makers are expected to reveal more about the cast and music in the coming weeks. For now, the focus firmly remains on Ranbir’s Rama avatar and whether the film can live up to the visual promise.

If the early buzz is any indication, the teaser has set high expectations for what could be one of the year’s most talked-about mythological films, blending star power, devotion, and big-screen spectacle for audiences across India.
