Devotee footfall surge pushes laddu sales to their highest-ever monthly figure, with TTD reporting a sharp 23.55% jump over June 2024
Tirumala, July 3, 2026: The world-famous Srivari Laddu — the sacred prasadam devotees carry home after darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara — has just notched up its biggest month ever. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) confirmed that a staggering 1,26,81,805 laddus were sold in June 2026, making it the highest monthly sale figure in the temple’s history.
A Steady Climb Through Summer
The numbers tell a story of steadily rising devotion through the summer months. TTD data shows laddu sales climbing month over month:
- April 2026: 1,11,96,170 laddus
- May 2026: 1,21,35,528 laddus
- June 2026: 1,26,81,805 laddus
That’s a clear upward curve, with June alone accounting for a jump of over 5.4 lakh laddus compared to May — a sign of just how many pilgrims made their way to the hill shrine as the season progressed.
Beating Last Year’s Numbers by a Mile
The real story, though, is in the year-on-year comparison. June 2026’s sales blow past both June 2025 and June 2024:
- June 2024: 1,02,64,364 laddus sold
- June 2025: 1,19,21,353 laddus sold
- June 2026: 1,26,81,805 laddus sold
That means June 2026 saw 7,59,452 more laddus sold than June 2025 — a growth of 6.37%. Stack it against June 2024, and the numbers are even more striking: an increase of 24,17,441 laddus, translating to a massive 23.55% growth in just two years.
Behind the Scenes: How TTD Kept Up
Feeding millions of devotees a single, freshly-made prasadam without a single day of shortage is no small logistical feat. TTD officials say the surge in pilgrim numbers prompted the devasthanam to significantly ramp up laddu production at the Potu (temple kitchen), while tightening distribution systems to make sure every devotee who arrived for darshan left with their laddu — no exceptions, no delays.
The sacred sweet, made from besan, sugar, ghee, cashews, raisins and cardamom, is prepared under strict traditional protocols and is one of the most sought-after temple prasadams in the country, with devotees often travelling hundreds of kilometres just for a taste of it.
What the Numbers Really Mean
For a shrine that already draws lakhs of pilgrims daily, a record-breaking laddu count is more than a statistic — it’s a direct reflection of Tirumala’s growing pull among devotees across India and beyond. With footfall showing no signs of slowing down, TTD’s planning teams will likely be watching closely to see if July pushes the record even higher.
One thing is certain: for millions of devotees, the golden, fragrant Srivari Laddu remains as much a part of the Tirumala experience as the darshan of the Lord himself — and this June, more people than ever got to carry a piece of that blessing home.
