Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, August 5, 2026 — Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has announced that the organisation will join the ongoing student protest in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.
Speaking to the media ahead of the CJP’s core committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Wednesday, Dipke said the party would travel to Jharkhand and stand with the protesters. He confirmed that CJP would support every demand raised by the students during the agitation.
What is the protest about?
Students in Jharkhand have been protesting for over a week. They allege irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) recruitment exams. The protesters demand an independent inquiry by a panel of retired high court judges from outside the state.
Some student leaders have also begun indefinite hunger strikes. They hold Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government responsible for the alleged irregularities. The agitation has gained attention across the country.
CJP’s role as a pressure group
Dipke also clarified that CJP would function as a pressure group. He said the organisation has no immediate plans to enter electoral politics. He stated that India needs a strong people’s movement more than another political party.
“People have lost faith in the judiciary, politics, media and the Election Commission,” Dipke said. He added that CJP’s activism aims to address issues that weaken democracy.
Earlier support
CJP had earlier extended support to the students through a social media post. Dipke said he spoke to student leaders in Ranchi over a video call. He had tweeted, “The CJP stands with all the students in Jharkhand and supports their demands.”
The protest has also drawn backing from other political figures. Several BJP leaders have demanded a CBI probe into the exam irregularities.
